TAKE A FLIGHT BACK IN TIME!
Rides Aboard the B-25H "Barbie III" Now Available!

You can fly aboard one of the most well known World War II bombers ever built!
The Warbirds Unlimited Foundation Inc. invites you to experience the thrill and excitement of taking to the skies aboard a North American B-25 Mitchell for a thirty-minute mission that you'll never forget!
Imagine yourself in 1943 flying over rugged terrain as a crewmember aboard the B-25 Mitchell, the most famous medium bomber produced during World War II. The tremendous roar of the Wright R-2600 engines pulling you and your crew of five along, protected only by the .50 caliber machine guns at each of your positions and the 75mm cannon in the nose.
What you imagine can become reality with the Warbirds Unlimited Foundation! You can fly aboard the North American B-25H Mitchell "Barbie III" on a 30-minute flight. The route may only cover about 100 miles, but it goes back in time more than 60 years!
"Barbie III" is a fully restored B-25H and is the only "H" model B-25 flying in the world today. As you look around during the flight, there is little that has been changed since it rolled off the North American Aircraft Co. production line in 1943. Though everything looks original, all of the systems of the B-25 are up to modern specifications and the aircraft uses modern radio equipment for the highest level of safety possible. The aircraft is one of the best maintained WWII aircraft in the skies of America today thanks to a dedicated professional maintenance and flying crew based in Mesa, AZ.

The views from the scenic flight are breathtaking in themselves, but seeing them from your bomber ride make it even better!

What is it like?
As you board the bomber, you can't help but feel you are stepping back in time. The fully restored interior is exactly like it was in 1943.
As the mighty Wright R-2600 engines roar to life, the vibration and roar tell you right away that this isn't your everyday airplane! You'll be seated for takeoff and landing, but feel free to move about to get a better view!
Your professionally-trained pilots will take you over breathtaking scenery during the 30 minute flight, so be sure to bring your camera!
Is It Safe?
Of course it is! The Federal Aviation Administration has developed special standards for maintenance of the aircraft and training of the pilots that is as rigorous as airline programs. Additionally, the Warbirds Unlimited Foundation has established strict standards which means that you can be assured the aircraft and pilots are at 100% while you are on board.
What about the Plane?
Meticulously restored to her 1943 WWII combat configuration, the Warbirds Unlimited Foundation North American B-25H Mitchell named Barbie III is a symbol of the mighty power of the American Army Air Corps during World War II. She flies in honor and rememberance of our WWII veterans of all branches and is alive to preserve their memory for our future generations.
Where do we sit? Where can we explore?
You will fly either in the forward fuselage in front of the bomb bay, or in the aft fuselage behind the bomb bay. Each seating location has special features that make the flight unique!
Forward passengers are seated directly behind the pilots next to the rearmost windows of the cockpit. Passengers here are able to overlook all pilot operations first-hand and can see the takeoff facing forward. The forward compartment also has the 75mm cannon loading breach and the top turret in place (note: top turret cannot be occupied in flight). There are two seating positions in the forward compartment.
Rear passengers have the opportunity to explore more through the aircraft. Seated for takeoff and landing in bench seats right behind the bomb bay, passengers are able to get up and walk through the aft compartment at their leisure once the B-25 has taken off. Passengers can see the ground pass by through the large waist gun windows while taking the .50 caliber replica machine gun for a spin (does not fire). Another great spot for rear passengers is the tail gunners position. This position is a greenhouse-like area at the extreme rear of the aircraft where the tail gunner would man their .50 machine guns. The view from this position is not only unique, but spectaular as the aircraft flies over the rugged and beautiful Arizona terrain to the North of Mesa (for summer riders in Denver, you'll see the fantastic mountain ranges and cityscape of the Mile High City).
